A. You could start with a legal separation and if you or your spouse want to later convert it to a divorce (or dismiss it), it is a simple change. Separation papers have, for the most part, the same procedures and such as divorce papers.
I have a divorce decree from Hawaii. I now live in Wisconsin and my ex husband lives in Michigan. He has not paid alimony and hasn't followed other things outlined in the decree. Can I file that he is in contempt in Wisconsin or do I have to go to Michigan?
